Our Favorite Whitney Houston Moments

The world has lost a songbird.

From Waiting to Exhale, to singing to our troops on an aircraft carrier for free as they came from the first Gulf War, talent and beauty like this just doesn’t come along every day.

No one else can sing the National Anthem like she could. And we doubt anyone ever will again.

Personally, my favorite Whitney Houston moment was blaring my stereo, singing It’s Not Right but It’s Okay, after I had finally made the decision to get rid of my cheating boyfriend. The song was so perfect. It was as if she was singing it just for me (as I packed his crap up in garbage bags and threw them over the balcony of our apartment). Girl. Power.

You just can’t deny her talent.

I shared my first kiss with my boyfriend to Whitney’s I Will Always Love You (we were at a wedding), he asked me to dance and gave me the sweetest kiss at the end of the song.

We have been together for 6 years on he 10th March.

He is a bit of a music snob so doesn’t like to admit that it is “our song” but we both know it is.

That welcome home troops tour still makes my eyes a little misty. And it makes me want to get up and dance.

Almost all her songs have in some way played a part in my life and the changes/growth I went through. One of my favorite ones, however is the song “One Moment in Time” – it just hits me so emotionally and at the same time makes me think of my sister and our childhood and now as adults.

RIP Whitney Houston – you made an indelible mark in our hearts and on this earth.
