We Love: Pinterest!

Internet fads come and go, some more enjoyable than others.

But, we have to admit, we are huge fans of the latest social sharing site, Pinterest.

While it’s currently following the maiden voyage gmail model of invite only access while developers scramble to get the site fully functional, current members have unlimited invitation privileges, so joining is easy!

So, what is Pinterest?

Pinterest is a social sharing website that allows you to save, or pin, photos and ideas you love from the websites you visit into easily accessible collections, or pinboards.

Products you love, images that make you laugh, house decor, inspirational quotes, tattoo ideas, the skies the limit. You make the boards based on your very own categorizations. Once you’ve pinned an item, you can add a description, tag another Pinterest member, add a hashtag, and share your pin on Twitter and Facebook.

And, because Pinterest is a social site, you can share your pins with members who follow you, and that can, in turn, re-pin your awesome finds!

Pinning and re-pinning is as easy as clicking a button! And, no matter how many people re-pin your amazing discovery, Pinterest ensures your image is always credited with the original finder, and the source from which the item came.

Oh, it’s so addicting! It reminds me of when I was a teenager and I would rip pages out of magazines and plaster them to my walls. Anytime I want to waste time I just sit and pin, click and pin, click and pin. So much fun!

I love Pinterest! Not only from the addiction/time wasting standpoint, but from the efficiency.

I work a stupid 8-5 desk job, and now, instead of forwarding myself links when I find a recipe, craft, etc. I merely pin it! I mean, not that I use work time for personal use or anything…..

This looks very addictive, but useful. I’m a recipe hound – but I don’t like printing out pages of recipes, and just “know” I’ll remember where I saw that “101 Amazing Things To Do With Chicken”! This could save the weary brain cells some energy, please send me an invite!

I’ve been resistant to try anything different than springpad, but this looks so much easier to use!

I can’t thank you enough for introducing me to Pinterest. You have opened up incredible possibilities for me that I had no idea existed. After almost 47 years, I finally know what I want to be when I grow up and Pinterest and all the things I’ve been exposed to through there in the past few weeks has helped me to see that.
